The Specification for Quality Management System Requirements for Service Supply Organizations for the Petroleum and Natural Gas Industries defines the quality system requirements needed for service supply organizations to consistently and dependably deliver services that satisfy clients, legal requirements, and other pertinent requirements. This specification covers service-related operations such as the construction, intervention, production, and abandonment of oil and gas wells as well as product configuration, repair, and maintenance. The API Monogram Program and any product designated by license as qualified for API Monogram marking are exempt from API Q2 requirements.

This includes activities involved in oil and gas well construction, intervention, production, and abandonment. This document applies to activities associated with well servicing, equipment repair/maintenance, and inspection activities.
